Quote of the Week:

As humorous as Andy’s satire might be, I question both its validity and his rather judgmental vision. When she walked through our door today with both courage and excited spirit to show off her so-called “ugly” Christmas sweater, Kay was definitely not crying out for help. Rather, she was enjoying every moment of the Christmas fun she brought to the store and to all of us there to share in her glee. Thank you Kay for “making our day” and sharing your spirit with us all. Onward to Engel’s Pub for a bite to eat where she was the ‘hit of the party’ (well. . . the lunch crowd for sure!)

And no. . . no ugly Christmas sweaters have we. However, there is still a great selection of sweaters from labels like Foil, Karen Kane, Tribal and Paper Label available for gift giving to one and all. . . including thee!

TAKE ONE!

Your Close Up.

Didn’t we see you in that film last year, the one with you-know-who?  We recall you climbing the stairs of Arnie’s in the opening scene all the while giving your companion a piece of your mind. In comes the zoom lens on that beautiful face in that stunning jacket.

Ah yes! After all, there can only be one leading lady and she’s definitely no ‘shy thing.’

If you haven’t already added a shacket to your wardrobe, tis the season.

For those not familiar with the term, a shacket is a slightly oversized shirt-jacket and is the absolute “chef’s kiss” for layering and is currently blowing up the fashion scene. What’s so great about it? Thicker than your average shirt, but thinner than a heavy winter coat, they are perfect for layering over fall sweaters or even under an overcoat. Buttoned up as a shirt or effortlessly undone as a jacket, they exude a seriously cool fashion look. The best part? They suit us all no matter what body type or fashion persona.

From Tribal this longline bold plaid shacket has someone’s name written all over it. The relaxed fit is ultra flattering when paired with leggings or skinny or straight cut jeans. Dress it up with a pencil skirt or a funky fuller skirt paired with your favorite fall handbag and boots and you’re ready to be the star!!

49% POLYESTER, 26% ACRYLIC, 13% RAYON, 8% NYLON, 4% WOOL

MACHINE WASH DELICATE CYCLE COLD WATER, WITH LIKE COLORS, DO NOT BLEACH, LINE DRY, LOW IRON IF NEEDED.

Here is a rather eclectic mix of trends to watch for this fall.

*Mixing up Classics – take your classic silhouettes and style them all together.  Pair a plaid or tweed blazer with your favorite logo tee and your jeans or athletic pant.

*Cozy Outerwear – teddy bear coats, faux fur jackets, capes of all lengths.  Go a little mod with shearling details.  So cozy!

*Suiting – sharp shoulders, belted trench coats, plaid blazers again paired with jeans.  And trousers are back.

*Prints – florals, plaids and animal (leopard and snake reign supreme).  Go ahead, show your spots.  Again, wear that ever so plaid blazer.

*Colors – pistachio, hot pink, purple (from lavender to dark grape), orange, military olive and every shade of beige.  Be bold!  Experiment with accessories here.

For those of you who love to wear color…be prepared. The news is bright. Fresh off the truck by Tribal, the Tropical Twist collection features just that. Showcasing two favorites, Orchid Rose and Violet, the collection is not only about bright color paired with black and white, but also about mixing textures for a fresh, new seasonal feel.
“Really?”, you may ask when you see those stripes flirting with those florals or tie dyes.
