Classic Orange!

This Spring sees the return of a cool classic.  The sleeveless camp dress by Renuar never goes away and can go anywhere.

So… you say you’ve been there and done that?  Well so have I and just can’t wait to wear this look again!  In the season’s popular melon color, this classic silhouette has me waiting for a new Spring day.  I’ll throw my white jean jacket over my shoulders and brighten my day with a new dress.        (click dress to enlarge the image)

Paisely Road scarves!

I don’t need a lot of things… but I need one of these scarves from Paisley Road to adorn my outfits this Spring.

The wildly printed Ikat threads are well-noted for its blurs in coloration within its weave, making it utterly limitless as to ‘what to wear’ with it. Many of the design motifs have ethnic, ritual or symbolic meaning or have been developed for export trade, and for $20 each, I must export at least one to my house!

Throw it on with a little black dress, a crochet sweater, a white denim jacket or around your hips with a swimsuit this summer. Considering Ikat is one of the oldest forms of textile decoration and weaving style, it sure fits right in today (in my closet).

Need it or not, weave a little of Paisely Road into your wardrobe.

Believe it or not, and clothes horse that I am, my favorite new addition to our store are these beautiful purse size journals that can accompany you everywhere… both for inspiration and motivation… lists, reminders, a bit of your own inspiration. I’ve no will-power for pretty journals (got three of them in my purse already) that compel me to open them and do a little writing of my own. Just a bit of icing on the cake that they’re from a local company in the Fremont District of Seattle and both text and illustration come from our own talent in the Pacific Northwest.

Here’s a bit of a ‘prompt’ for your first journal entry:

Robert Frost wrote a poem titled ‘The Road Not Taken.’ Name a road that you’ve always wanted to travel. Where do you hope it takes you and what might you see along the way?

Got room in the purse for a journal of your own?

My very favorite things!

My very most favorite things in our Sound Styles store right now are these two must haves for Fall.

Wrap yourself up in a cozy sweater by Tribal.  I love the waterfall cut as well the contrast and range of the dark to grey to white palette!

Renuar* really out did themselves with an amazing rich orange timeless coat, and it is great with a skinny jean and tall boot!  (*pictured here at the left)

So hurry in and get these great assets for your Fall wardrobe (quick before I do!).

Coobie or Bust?

For 65+ years I’ve never raved about wearing a bra.  Finally I’ve been introduced to Coobies.  Now my straps stay up, no twisted arms to find elusive hooks.  And I go all day without even a passing bra thought.  That’s how comfortable they are!  (88% nylon, 12% spandex).  Try just one,  only $20 or $22 (2 sizes), and you’ll rave too!

How can I resist?

So… I’m the one who’s constantly being teased and how often do I hear, How do you ever work in here and even begin to take home a paycheck?  Well, just between you and me, this is a true dilemma and challenge for me.

For example, this new fur vest from Karen Kane is calling my name.  I can just see it paired with my camel turtleneck and brown jeans.  A splash of gold jewelry and…  Oh shoot!  How am I ever going to resist?
