Speaking of hats…

Speaking of hats…

young hat 3ena joint Staff Pick from us…

Some sixty years or so ago when my mother first dressed me in a hat and coat for Easter Sunday, as if I were quite the young lady, I instantly became one! I felt oh so special and owned the title, young lady. Funny how that works! A great hat can change your entire persona and put a spring in your step. ~Julie

How about you?

What was the first hat that you remember wearing?

We hope you’ll have some fond hat memory to share with us, whether it be the first or another hat.  We’d love to hear your stories.

Love this!    Talk about that one special top that can make a statement and pull a ‘look’ together!

Sno Skins does it with this top in plum. It lives up to their reputation for unique novelty fabrics with incredible textures and brilliant colors and prints. All proudly made in the USA.

Almost forgot…. there’s a skirt too in the same plum color and texture so you can have that look of a dress or separate the pieces for more versatility.

Go royal. Be special. Look like a lady in shades of purple.

New Temptations!
Staff Picks from us to you!

In walks Mike with today’s UPS delivery.

new mary smallWhat’s going to tempt us today?” Jenny’s ‘Golden Girls’ wonder out loud to one another.

Doesn’t take long before Mary has found her favorite…. “look at this tunic top!” she exclaims with excitement. “I love the mixed textures and prints. So unique and it’s already layered for you. I could wear this with jeans or velvet pants. It’s lightweight and would pack easily too. Might just have to take this with me on my upcoming trip in November.”

new julie smallJulie agrees with Mary’s choice but has a pic of her own. “The tunic is cute,” she agrees, “but look at this cowl neck sweater. Kind of has my name written all over it. Love the mixture of animal print and solid. Would be so cute with our herringbone black jeans.”

There’s lots to tempt us all in the new shipment from Alison Sheri. Cardigans, pullovers and tops galore. Come look before they all get scooped up!

Classic Orange!

This Spring sees the return of a cool classic.  The sleeveless camp dress by Renuar never goes away and can go anywhere.

So… you say you’ve been there and done that?  Well so have I and just can’t wait to wear this look again!  In the season’s popular melon color, this classic silhouette has me waiting for a new Spring day.  I’ll throw my white jean jacket over my shoulders and brighten my day with a new dress.        (click dress to enlarge the image)

Paisely Road scarves!

I don’t need a lot of things… but I need one of these scarves from Paisley Road to adorn my outfits this Spring.

The wildly printed Ikat threads are well-noted for its blurs in coloration within its weave, making it utterly limitless as to ‘what to wear’ with it. Many of the design motifs have ethnic, ritual or symbolic meaning or have been developed for export trade, and for $20 each, I must export at least one to my house!

Throw it on with a little black dress, a crochet sweater, a white denim jacket or around your hips with a swimsuit this summer. Considering Ikat is one of the oldest forms of textile decoration and weaving style, it sure fits right in today (in my closet).

Need it or not, weave a little of Paisely Road into your wardrobe.

Believe it or not, and clothes horse that I am, my favorite new addition to our store are these beautiful purse size journals that can accompany you everywhere… both for inspiration and motivation… lists, reminders, a bit of your own inspiration. I’ve no will-power for pretty journals (got three of them in my purse already) that compel me to open them and do a little writing of my own. Just a bit of icing on the cake that they’re from a local company in the Fremont District of Seattle and both text and illustration come from our own talent in the Pacific Northwest.

Here’s a bit of a ‘prompt’ for your first journal entry:

Robert Frost wrote a poem titled ‘The Road Not Taken.’ Name a road that you’ve always wanted to travel. Where do you hope it takes you and what might you see along the way?

Got room in the purse for a journal of your own?

My very favorite things!

My very most favorite things in our Sound Styles store right now are these two must haves for Fall.

Wrap yourself up in a cozy sweater by Tribal.  I love the waterfall cut as well the contrast and range of the dark to grey to white palette!

Renuar* really out did themselves with an amazing rich orange timeless coat, and it is great with a skinny jean and tall boot!  (*pictured here at the left)

So hurry in and get these great assets for your Fall wardrobe (quick before I do!).

Coobie or Bust?

For 65+ years I’ve never raved about wearing a bra.  Finally I’ve been introduced to Coobies.  Now my straps stay up, no twisted arms to find elusive hooks.  And I go all day without even a passing bra thought.  That’s how comfortable they are!  (88% nylon, 12% spandex).  Try just one,  only $20 or $22 (2 sizes), and you’ll rave too!
